About
Founder and head designer Aaron van Bindsbergen spent more than ten years as product development manager for European design brands such as Moooi and Fest. In 2023 he launched noranora with one clear goal: create archetypal furniture that performs in demanding contract, hospitality, and residential settings while establishing a fundamentally new, sustainable approach to the supply chain.
Archetypal design, pragmatic sustainability
Our modular design minimises transport volume and carbon emissions, making it ideal for both European and international projects. Once assembled, the steel frame locks into a rigid structure tested for high‑traffic hospitality and office use, but also perfectly suited to residential environments. Production takes place in northern Italy with upholstery completed in the Netherlands. Local supply keeps lead times short.
We focus on two key principles:
- Better design, not newer. We focus on recognisable, archetypal forms that stand the test of time. The result is calm yet distinctive. Confident enough to make a statement, subtle enough to work across many interior styles.
- Sustainable by design. Sustainability is the foundation of noranora. Without legacy systems to maintain, we build the entire supply chain from scratch, making conscious choices at every step. From materials to logistics, everything is shaped by long-term responsibility and transparency.
Inspiration
Aaron draws ideas from everyday objects found in places that are rarely designed intentionally, but simply made that way out of necessity. These items follow universal rules of ergonomics and economy. By studying them, we walk the fine line between the familiar and the fresh.
